Why not eat apples to age gracefully and healthily!
Anti-Oxidant and Apple Nutrition
When reactive oxygen species are generated in our body, they accelerate aging by attacking the cells, which leads to the skin damage of wrinkles and spots and becoming one cause of life-related diseases such as cancer or atherosclerosis. The damage caused by reactive oxygen species to cells is called “oxidation,” while the process of removing reactive oxygen species is called “antioxidation.”
Apples are rich in polyphenols which have excellent antioxidant properties. It contains various types of polyphenols, but is particularly rich in procyanidins. Procyanidins are said to be especially excellent antioxidants among polyphenols.

How to eat to get the most out of polyphenols
When you cut an apple, it turns brown. This is due to the oxidation of polyphenols. Even if oxidized polyphenols are ingested, their antioxidant effects cannot be expected to be significant. You should eat it as little oxidized as possible. In order to prevent oxidation, it is recommended to eat immediately after cutting, or dip the cut surface in lemon juice or salt water.
Since polyphenols are sensitive to heat, it is best to eat apples fresh to get the most out of polyphenols.
Polyphenols remain in the body for only a short time, so it is necessary to eat them frequently throughout the day in order to achieve anti-aging effects.
